Die Norm 27001 der Internationalen Organisation für Normung (ISO 27001) ist ein weltweit anerkannter Standard für die Implementierung eines Informationssicherheits-Managementsystems (ISMS) und legt Best Practices für die Verwaltung, Überwachung, Prüfung und kontinuierliche Verbesserung des ISMS einer Organisation fest.
Die Zertifizierung erfolgt durch einen unabhängigen externen Prüfer. Sie gewährleistet, dass bestimmte Sicherheitsmechanismen in Kraft und wirksam sind.
