Zoom’s cloud hybrid strategy has arrived, extending the Zoom cloud to enterprise infrastructure and helping to unify existing and future Zoom hybrid solutions for standardized deployment and operation.
Zoom Node is a central hub for hosting Zoom workloads — or modules — that provide Zoom functionalities, such as meetings or calling. It’s optimized to help address customer requirements in the areas of compliance, security, survivability and bandwidth optimization. Zoom Node and the service modules it supports are deployed on premises but managed from the Zoom cloud, effectively extending Zoom cloud functionality to customer data centers.
Turn-key hardened appliance architecture with bundled OS, managed by Zoom
Unified management via the Zoom web portal and Zoom Node dashboard
Managed automatic updates and patching
Integrated cloud-based alerting and logging
Full audit-logging of all administrative activities
Centralized log management and cloud log relay
The unified, hybrid cloud platform includes a cloud registration and management framework designed for easy environment and service provisioning, onboarding, status monitoring and control, as well as granular logging.
Leverage the Zoom cloud management and analytics interface for Zoom Node and all supported modules, with granular logging as well as an alerting and notification service enabling frictionless troubleshooting.
When used in conjunction with a web proxy, certain Zoom Node service modules have the ability to keep Zoom media traffic inside the organization’s network to reduce or eliminate the need for cloud traversal and internet dependency. This technology also reduces the number of data ingress and egress points to further improve security posture.
With a registration service enabling the authorization and enrollment of components in customer data centers to the cloud and a debugging console displaying logs, stay on top of what’s happening across all your modules.
Zoom Node’s structure allows users to tailor their hybrid strategy according to their organization’s unique needs — adding on nodes and modules as required. The current Zoom Node has capacity for up to four modules.
Service modules are service-specific Zoom workloads such as Zoom Meeting or Zoom Chat, that run on Zoom Node locally. These service modules are managed through the Zoom Web portal. Each Zoom Node is capable of supporting up to four service modules.
The Zoom Phone Local Survivability (ZPLS) module allows organizations to maintain certain Zoom Phone services within the organization even if internet connectivity is lost.
The Zoom Phone Local Survivability module capacity limits are as follows (dependent on hardware configuration):
Internal Extension Dialing
Contact Search/Dialing
Dial From Call History
Hold/Resume Call
DTMF
Blind/Consult Transfer
Ad hoc 3-Party Conference
Full Extension dialing with Site Code
Inbound/Outbound PSTN calling support (requires SBC)
Call Park
Zoom Node Meetings Hybrid is a service module that enables you to keep meeting media within your premises for compliance, enhanced security and improved bandwidth utilization. The module allows media to cascade to the Zoom cloud to accommodate external guests and provide additional capacity as required. The Zoom Meetings Hybrid module also provides security demarcation for network edge proxy capability allowing organizations to reduce the number of network ingress and egress points.
Cloud cascading
On-demand meeting media localization for improved security and compliance
Single pane of glass management
Reduced edge ingress and egress points
Internet bandwidth savings
Zoom Meeting survivability
Add an extra layer of security, bandwidth, and survivability, and enable compliance for your Zoom Meetings and Webinars hybrid recordings by storing them locally. Record private meetings and store the recordings on-premises in your network file storage system.
This module is an extension of our Zoom Meetings Hybrid module and must be combined with the Zoom Meetings Hybrid module.
Zoom Node Zoom Chat Hybrid is a service module that allows organizations to store chat data on premises while taking advantage of the benefits of the Zoom Node platform.
Zoom Chat Hybrid provides organizations with:
Robust dashboard for service management, deployments, reporting and more
Deployment of on-prem storage for chat messages to help meet regional and/or industry compliance needs
Custom chat retention periods at the account and group levels
Simple to deploy and manage, our Zoom Meetings and Recording Connectors can be supported through Zoom Node to simplify management and increase scalability and security.
Zoom Meeting Connector (MC) module: Highly scalable, enterprise-grade on-premise meeting solution that allows you to localize the processing of your meeting media.
Zoom Recording Connector (RC) module: Provides on-prem recording capability for the Meeting Connector, keeping all meetings recordings on-premises.
